Used containers will always have dings, dents, scratches, faded paint, and patches of surface rust befitting of 12-18 years at sea. Inside, it is completely normal for used shipping container floors to show signs of scratches from forklifts and patches or repairs to the floor. These characteristics apply to both wind & watertight shipping containers and cargoworthy shipping containers.
Even new "one-trip" containers — which have only made one trip with dry goods across the ocean — may have light scratches and dents on their interior and exterior.
